Beautiful canyon in a forest near the village of Gréolières.
Located at 1 hour from Grasse and 50 minutes from Castellane in the Loup valley, this initiation canyon is ideal to learn abseiling and have fun with jumps (from 2 to 8 metres hight) that we can repeat in large and deep pools. This course with a varied lanscape is perfect to discover this activity with children from 12 years old onward.

Description of the activity - Canyon of Gours du Ray
The meeting point with your qualified instructor will be on the carpark of the canyon located at a 50- minutes driving from Castellane.
After having received your personal equipment (helmet, harness, neoprene suit), you will follow your monitor on a 15-minutes approach walk , along a pretty footpath.
Once at the beginning of the canyon, you will put on your neoprene suit, harness and helmet.
Your monitor will give you all the instructions to practise canyoning in full safety
You will find many 2-metres to 6-metres high jumps that can be avoided, and many abseil in waterfall.
At the end of the adventure, you will take your equipment off and walk back during 30 minutes to reach the carpark.

How to come:
- From CASTELLANE (04120 - Alpes-de-Haute-Provence): Take the direction of GRASSE on the road D6085. Drive about 20 minutes and at the LOGIS DU PIN, turn left on the D2211 direction SAINT AUBAN. About 2 km after, turn right on the D2 direction GREOLIERES. Cross MALAMAIRE and VALDEROURE and continue on the D2 until GREOLIERES. (WARNING: do not take the road on your left towards GREOLIERES LES NEIGES). Arriving at GREOLIERES, park in the car park of La Faisse at the entrance of the village. Count 1 hour of journey.
- From MARSEILLE (13000 - Bouches-du-Rhône): Join the A8 towards NICE. Take the exit 36 direction DRAGUIGNAN / LE MUY. Join the D1555 direction DRAGUIGNAN, then D54 direction COMPS SUR ARTUBY / DIGNE. Pass near FIGANIERES then join the D955. Pass near MONFERRAT then cross COMPS S / ARTUBY. ATTENTION: at the exit of COMPS S / ARTUBY, stay on the road D21 direction DIGNE (do not take on the left direction CASTELLANE, road of the gorges du VERDON). At the village of LOGIS-DU-PIN, at the roundabout, take direction DIGNE / CASTELLANE then just after, turn right on the D2211 direction St Auban. Turn right on the D2 direction VALDEROURE / GREOLIERES. Cross MALAMAIRE and VALDEROURE and continue on the D2 until GREOLIERES. (WARNING: do not take the road on your left towards GREOLIERES LES NEIGES). Arriving at GREOLIERES, park in the car park of La Faisse at the entrance of the village. Count 3 hours of journey.
- From NICE (06000 - Alpes-Maritmes): Take the A8 motorway towards TOULON MARSEILLE. Take the exit 48 CAGNES SUR MER. At the first roundabout, take straight towards VENCE / LA COLLE SUR LOUP on the M336. Go up Avenue des Alpes on the M336, always following LA COLLE SUR LOUP. At a roundabout leave the M336 to follow the M436 direction LA COLLE. Cross LA COLLE SUR LOUP, and follow direction BAR SUR LOUP (on D 436) then direction Gorges du Loup / GREOLIERES on the D6. Continue on the D3 direction COURMES then GREOLIERES. Arriving at GREOLIERES, follow the direction ANDON on the D402 and park in the parking lot of La Faisse. Count 1h30 of journey.
- From GRASSE (06130 - Alpes-Maritmes): Take the road D2085 direction NICE / CHATEAUNEUF DE GRASSE Then follow the direction of GOURDON / GREOLIERES on the D3. Cross GOURDON and continue on the same road D3 until GREOLIERES. Arriving at GREOLIERES, follow the direction ANDON on the D402 and park in the car park of La Faisse at the entrance of the village. Count 1h15 journey.
